Job summary

National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) on a PRN basis to provide high-quality respiratory care across all ages. You will work in a fast-paced clinical environment with a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety.

Responsibilities include diagnostic testing, delivering therapies, monitoring responses, and responding to codes. Education for patients and families, equipment maintenance, and adherence to infection control are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• RRT license in the practicing state is required.
• CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic testing, including bedside PFTs, EKGs, blood gas analysis, and tobacco cessation education.
• Deliver respiratory therapies, monitor patient response, and communicate changes in condition.
• Respond to codes and emergent respiratory calls, providing rapid assessment and intervention.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health, medication use, and illness management.
• Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment, manage supplies, and support performance improvement efforts.
• Provide care across neonatal through older adult populations while ensuring safety and infection control standards.

About the Role

The Respiratory Therapist evaluates and treats patients with breathing related conditions, performs diagnostic testing, and collaborates with physicians to develop effective treatment plans. This position plays a vital role in emergency response, patient education, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.
