Job summary

Qualifications

• RRT and RCP certifications preferred.
• Illinois state licensure and CPR certification required or active.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient outcomes and makes changes in the plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
• Explains procedures and care plans to patients and responsible persons; ensures understanding of respiratory disease processes and discharge instructions.
• Accepts reassignment to other units when necessary.
• Shares clinical knowledge with staff and students and serves as a role model for clinical practice.
• Plans, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of respiratory care.
• Provides respiratory care as ordered by physician and coordinates with medical and nursing staff.
• Leads workflow to optimize personnel utilization; assists with orientation of new employees/students; supports daily department operations.

Compensation

Compensation (Commensurate with experience): $28.8 To $44.64
