Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory Therapy team in the Chicago metro area. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

The role requires NBRC RRT certification, state RCP license, BCLS, ACLS, and upcoming NRP/PALS where applicable. Expect a high-acuity environment with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• State license as Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is required.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification is required.
• BCLS and ACLS (within specified timelines) are required at or after hire.
• NRP and PALS certifications are preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor degree is preferred; HS diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management).
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems.
• Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs).
• Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans.
• Document care in the EMR.
• Respond to code blue and rapid response events.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes.
• May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts.

Overview:

Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Relocation Assistance: Available for candidates relocating from outside the state of Illinois. Salary Range: $1,332 – $1,792.80 per week (base gross), based on a 36-hour (3x12-hour) schedule; equivalent to $37.00 – $49.80 per hour.

• 1. State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
• 2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 3. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• 4. 2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
• 5. ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current.
• 6. NRP certificate preferred
• 7. PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• 8. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
• 9. High School Diploma or equivalent is required
