Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our pulmonology clinic on a PRN basis. You will work Mondays, half-day Fridays, and additional shifts as needed in a fast-paced setting, delivering respiratory care and monitoring patient status.

Must hold Virginia licensure, RRT credential, and BLS. We value patient-centered care, teamwork, and ongoing professional development within a supportive hospital network.

Qualifications

• Must have Virginia licensure as Respiratory Therapist.
• Current RRT credential.
• BLS certification by American Heart Association.
• Three or more years of experience in cardiopulmonary services.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

• Measure lung capacity and analyze blood gases.
• Deliver and assess therapy per care plan.
• Monitor and document patient condition.
• Evaluate policies based on outcomes and research.

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Registered Respiratory Therapist to work Mondays, half-day Fridays, and other days/times as needed.

How You’ll Contribute

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
• Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should be a high school diploma/GED or associate degree in science.

Additional Requirements Include

• Current Respiratory Therapist Licensure in the state of Virginia.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.
• Three or more years of previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services, preferred.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Hourly range: $27.97-$36.12 per hour
