Job summary

TriHealth seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care across patient care settings, including ventilator management and administration of respiratory therapies. The role includes ABG procurement/analysis, bedside pulmonary testing, and assisting in clinical education of students.

Responsibilities also include thorough documentation, updating work lists, and charge submission. May assist in airway management and oxygen titration within the Respiratory Evaluation Protocol Program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program (Required).
• 1-2 years in a related field (Required).
• Knowledge of advanced cardiopulmonary physiology and related pharmacology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
• NBRC Registry or RRT, Respiratory Care Practitioner Required.
• Current Ohio licensure Required.

Responsibilities

• Performs ventilator management for diverse patient ages (neonates to adults).
• Performs respiratory therapy modalities and diagnostic procedures (HHN, P&PD, MDI, IPPB, ABGs, PEFR, EKGs, induced sputum).
• Completes documentation, updates work lists, and submits charges by end of shift.
• May perform airway management and O2 titration as per protocol.
• Manages the Respiratory Evaluation Protocol Program.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will provide respiratory care in all patient care settings. This position's Duties include, i.e. the administration of all respiratory care therapeutic modalities, management of mechanical ventilation, and the assessment of the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy administered REP. Additionally, these practitioners will assist in the clinical education of Respiratory Therapy Students and participate in such diagnostic activities as ABG procurement and analysis, bedside pulmonary function testing and hemodynamic and other noninvasive procedures
