Job description

Join to apply for the Respiratory Therapist Registered PD role at University Hospital.

The primary purpose of a Respiratory Therapist Registered (RTR) position is to provide direct patient care. Upon the order of the physician, the therapist administers pulmonary therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and sets up, operates, monitors, and manages various types of respiratory equipment used in the treatment, management, and care of patients of all ages with cardio-respiratory deficiencies and abnormalities. The role is primarily based in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), collaborating with nurses and physicians to implement individualized care plans.

Qualifications

• Must possess the ability, education, and training required to meet the needs of patients of all ages based on age and developmental status.
• Successful completion of a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
• Must possess the Registry (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Must have a valid license issued by the New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current BLS certificate is required, along with successful completion of all mandatory competencies and training as required by the Joint Commission, DOH, and other regulatory agencies.
• Must possess good communication skills.
• Continuing Education: Must complete 30 CE credits for biennial license renewal.
