AdventHealth in Greenwood Village, CO is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide care across neonatal to geriatric patients. You will administer respiratory therapy, monitor ventilators, and document care in the EMR. The role emphasizes safety, infection control, and patient-family teaching.

The position is full-time with a day shift, based at 6061 S Willow Dr, Greenwood Village, CO 80111. Requires NBRC credential and appropriate state licensure; benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science required.
• State CRT or RRT certification required.
• NBRC credential preferred for incumbents.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required.
• 1+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of techniques and treatment modalities for patients across ages (neonate to geriatric).
• Follows best practices to reduce potential medication errors.
• Documents data in the patient’s medical record after completing service (EMR).
• Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators, including airway management and suctioning.
• Assesses patient needs and tolerance, reassessing responses to therapy.
• Performs ABG puncture and arterial cannulation using sterile technique.
• Maintains infection control and safe operation of equipment.
• Provides teaching plans involving patient and family education.

Job Description:

• Demonstrates knowledge of techniques and treatment modalities for patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric.
• Follows best practices to reduce potential medication errors.
• Documents all pertinent data on the patient’s medical record after completing service.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understanding the purpose and possible side effects of each.
• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment, remaining alert to possible side effects.
• Follows departmental equipment sterilization procedures.
• Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators, including airway management and tracheal suctioning.
• Performs arterial punctures to obtain blood samples for gas analysis, understanding complications and contraindications.
• Assesses patient needs and tolerance for treatment, reassessing responses to therapy.
• Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, inspecting and testing to ensure functionality.
• Formulates and evaluates teaching plans based on patient learning needs, including family involvement as appropriate.

• Knowledge and skill to care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient in a health care delivery system [Required]
• Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR) [Preferred]

• An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:

• For Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist: NBRC credential must be maintained as a condition of continued role eligibility.
• All States: require NBRC for new hires, and incumbents
• Florida Exception: legacy incumbents may continue working and may transfer within Florida without a NBRC active credential, subject to an approved, time -limited transition period.
