Job Overview:

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will evaluate, treat, and care for pediatric patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of a Joint Review Committee for Respiratory Therapy Education approved program of Respiratory Care
• Registered Respiratory Therapist from the National Board of Respiratory Care
• NJ State Respiratory License
• AHA BLS Provider Certification

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science degree

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• NJ State Respiratory License
• AHA BLS Provider Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem
• Nights

Essential Functions:

• Work at any site as needed
• Use Respiratory Therapy within hospital-defined time frames
• Identify patient and family healthcare needs
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including pediatric rehabilitative rationales
• Provide patient and family education within hospital policies
• Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams as a rehab Therapist
• Promote continuity of respiratory care
• Follow policies related to ISTAT blood analysis system
• Respect patient and family rights in a culturally sensitive environment
• Seek guidance from senior staff when appropriate
• Self-evaluate clinical performance and learning needs
• Maintain professional behavior and accountability
• Serve as a role model for students and new employees

Physical Demands:

• Lift and carry equipment and patients over 15 pounds
• Potential exposure to blood and body fluids
• Remain on feet most of the day; bending, walking, dexterity, pushing, pulling
