Qualifications

  • 5 years of RT experience in an ICU setting is required.
  • RRT certification and Illinois state license are mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily planning via patient rounds.
  • Provide primary respiratory care from admission to discharge.
  • Document accurate patient care data as per guidelines.

Job Overview

Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for a Part-Time Respiratory Therapist. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Our top healthcare professionals excel in their practices and provide compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most. Hours: Part-time, Nights, 7pm to 7am.

Responsibilities
  • The Respiratory Therapist gets the opportunity to participate in daily planning via patient rounds.
  • You'll work as part of the interdisciplinary team for the plan of care for our burn and orthopedic patients.
  • You'll be able to increase your knowledge in burn and orthopedic care to improve outcomes for our amazing patients and families.
  • Our Respiratory Therapists have the opportunity for academic growth through participation in research projects.
  • Provides primary respiratory care to patients from admission through their discharge under a physician's order.
  • Communicates verbal and/or written patient and departmental information/special needs to pertinent persons in a timely and appropriate manner (i.e. rounds).
  • Documents accurate, specific, complete patient care data according to policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Assures safe, cost effective operation and function of pertinent equipment and utilizes appropriate infection control techniques in all areas.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate Respiratory Therapy
  • 5 Years RT experience in ICU setting
  • RRT
  • License in state of Illinois
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Preferred:

  • 2 Year Pediatric experience
