Overview
Respiratory Therapist (PRN) – Seacoast at McLeod Health. This role provides direct patient care and respiratory care procedures across facility areas, adhering to policy and procedure.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care and respiratory care procedures in all areas within the facility.
- Organize workload to ensure therapy is completed as prescribed.
- Participate in RC educational activities and departmental meetings.
- Document and maintain records, charts, and reports in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Respond to all emergency alerts in a timely manner and document appropriately.
- Exercise sound clinical judgment and assessment skills to provide patient care and monitor patients, communicating information to other caregivers.
- Evaluate patient care and make recommendations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Training
- Zero to less than one year of experience in Respiratory Care with an Associate of Respiratory Care from an accredited CoARC institution.
- Participation in the National Board for Respiratory Care''s Continuing Competency Program to maintain credential if credential received after July 1, 2002.
Education
- Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist or new graduate. New graduates have 3 months to obtain RRT after hire/ graduation date.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification must be completed within 3 months of hire or transfer date (existing employees have 6 months from the date this Job Description is signed to complete training).
- PALS certification must be completed within 6 months of hire or transfer date (existing employees have 6 months from the date this Job Description is signed to complete training).
