The role you’ll contribute:
Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director, the Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with physician’s orders, department policies, and procedures. Performs diagnostic tests of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders. Participates in CQI/Performance improvement activities within the department.

Maintains knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment. Assesses for possible side effects of oxygen therapy.
Administers respiratory treatments, understanding their purposes and side effects.
Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators and performs associated critical care duties, such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
Performs arterial punctures for blood gas analysis, understanding potential complications and contraindications.
Assesses patients to determine treatment needs and responses.

Registrations – Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist, CPR certification.
