Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver cardiopulmonary care per physician orders. You will operate ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP devices, and perform pulmonary function testing under supervision of the Medical Director, adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.

Required are a Florida license and NBRC registration, CPR certification, and a certificate from an accredited respiratory care program.

Qualifications

• Certificate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with physician orders, department policies and procedures.
• Work under supervision of Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Director.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Director, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for Providing Cardiopulmonary Care Services in accordance with specific physician's orders, department policies and procedures.

Education:

• Certificate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy Preferred

Experience:

• Minimum is 0-3 months, Graduate Respiratory Therapist, Board eligible
• With current State of Florida License.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:

• National Board Registered in Respiratory Care
• Current State Of Florida License as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
• CPR Certification

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

• Basic Computer Knowledge Ability to use ABG machine
• (drawing and analysis)
• Non-invasive O2 Sat.
• Ventilators
• EKG
• 24 hr. Holter Monitor
• Treadmill Stress Tests
• Pulmonary Function machine
• CPAP & BIPAP machines
• along with Aerosol delivery devices & perform chest PT & Postural Drainage
