Children's of Alabama is seeking a certified respiratory therapist to deliver specialized respiratory care across various departments in the hospital. Responsibilities include supervising other practitioners and mentoring student therapists. Ideal candidates must be licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Care and possess relevant experience in the field.
Education
The CRT who is not eligible to be registered by the NBRC must be a graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved 10 month to 1 year program of respiratory therapy and must be licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT). The CRT who is registry eligible must be a graduate of an AMA approved 2 or 4 year program of respiratory therapy, must be licensed by the ASBRT, and must sit for and pass the registry examination within a specified amount of time.
Experience
The practitioner must have a minimum of 1 year experience in the field of respiratory therapy. Recent graduates who have successfully completed the certification examination qualify and will be considered.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
The practitioner must be licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Care. The individual must be certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care or must be eligible for certification and sit for and pass the certification examination within a specified amount of time.
