Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem - Night Shift

Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to plan, implement, and evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in diagnosing and managing residents with cardiopulmonary and related disorders.

Position Functions and Responsibilities

  • Promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission and Core Values by embodying Respect, Diversity, Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Growth, Change, and Loving Relationships.
  • Performs assessments and therapeutic modalities for infants, children, and adolescents as ordered by a physician, including nebulized treatments, chest physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, bag/mask ventilation, and other treatments.
  • Monitors residents on oxygen support systems, maintains airway patency, performs suctioning, and supports criteria for resident care.
  • Ensures equipment is properly set up, maintained, and stored.
  • Supports team collaboration, participates in resident management, documents updates, and educates residents and families on respiratory care.
  • Acts as a member of the code blue team and supports professional growth through education and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Possesses the ability to make independent decisions, communicate tactfully, and understand relevant laws and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree from an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care program
  • Current New York State Registered Respiratory Therapist license
  • BLS certification
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years in acute or long-term care, specifically with pediatrics

Salary

$71.50 per hour for Night Shift. Only Night Shift available.
