Job summary

Select Medical in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for PRN/Per Diem Day Shift on 12-hour shifts. Compensation is $45.00 per hour plus weekend differentials.

The role supports our critical illness recovery hospital and provides high-quality inpatient care to chronically ill patients. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, delivering respiratory therapy, airway management, and contributing to quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Must possess Active NBRC CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation: college transcript/diploma or high school transcript/diploma/GED.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• Current state licensure required; ACLS required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients and families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess \"Active\" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred qualifications:

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
