Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Evansville is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our critical care team on a PRN/per diem basis. The RT will provide respiratory care to critically ill patients, evaluate treatment plans, and participate in ongoing quality improvement.

Competitive compensation at about $40/hour with shift differentials for nights and weekends, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus. PRN days and nights available; state licensure and BLS required; ACLS required on hire.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• BLS certification must be active by start date.
• Current state licensure required.
• ACLS required upon hire.
• One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide respiratory care for critically ill patients and those with complex conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes as needed.
• Promote continuous quality improvement within the team.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
