Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC) at Hopewell is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support medically fragile children in a ventilator-dependent, rehabilitation-focused setting. You will contribute to long-term patient goals and partner with families to advance milestones.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Active Respiratory Therapist license (state unspecified).
• RRT or CRT credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current CPR (AHA Healthcare Provider) certification.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pediatric/ventilator or long‑term care experience preferred (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive respiratory and ventilator assessments.
• Evaluate weaning potential and respiratory rehabilitation opportunities.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized respiratory care plans.
• Initiate and manage ventilator weaning protocols per physician orders.
• Administer prescribed respiratory medications and treatments.
• Monitor and document care, including ventilation checks every 12 hours.

Responsibilities

Respiratory Therapist (RT) Responsibilties:

• Conduct comprehensive respiratory and ventilator assessments

• Evaluate weaning potential and respiratory rehabilitation opportunities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized respiratory care plans

• Initiate and manage ventilator weaning protocols per physician orders

• Administer prescribed respiratory medications and treatments

• Perform scheduled and PRN respiratory interventions

• Monitor labs, clinical indicators, and ventilator parameters within scope of practice

• Document care clearly and concisely, including ventilation checks every 12 hours per PSC policy

• Maintain accurate progress notes, evaluations, and discharge summaries

• Communicate clinical findings and recommendations to physicians and interdisciplinary team members

• Educate families, caregivers, and staff on respiratory equipment and procedures

• Assist with in‑service training and onboarding education for staff

• Ensure safe, cost‑effective use of respiratory equipment and supplies

Qualifications

Respiratory Therapist (RT) Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy required (Bachelor’s preferred)

• Active, unencumbered Pennsylvania Respiratory Therapist license

• RRT or CRT credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care

• Current CPR (AHA Healthcare Provider) certification

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Pediatric, ventilator, or long‑term care experience preferred (but not required — we will support training)
