The role you’ll contribute:

Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director, the Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with physician’s orders, department policies, and procedures. Performs diagnostic tests of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders. Participates in CQI/Performance improvement activities within the department.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Maintains knowledge of various methods of oxygen delivery, including necessary equipment. Remains alert to assess possible side effects of oxygen delivery.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understands their purposes, and the possible side effects.
• Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators and performs associated critical care duties, such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
• Performs arterial punctures to obtain blood samples for blood gas analysis, understanding potential complications and contraindications.
• Follows departmental equipment sterilization procedures.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

• 2-year Associate Degree
• Internship/Clinical with course of study
• Two or more years of experience
• Registrations – Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist, CPR
• ACLS & NRP within 90 days of hire
• Licenses – State of Kansas
