Job summary

Alpha Home Health and Hospice seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care across diverse patient populations, from neonatal to geriatric. You will assist physicians, assess patients, document treatments, and educate patients and staff to ensure understanding of care plans.

The role requires graduation from an accredited program, RRT or registry-eligible status, and state licensure within 6 months, with CPR current and ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• RRT certification or registry-eligible status.
• Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license within 6 months of employment.
• Current CPR certification; ACLS, NRP, and PALS required within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures and deliver treatments to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment methods and monitor physiological responses, especially in vulnerable populations.
• Document treatments, equipment maintenance, and quality control activities, transcribe physician orders, and communicate clearly with patients and families.
• Provide education to patients and staff to ensure understanding of treatments and procedures.
