Job Description

Respiratory Therapist (NYC) - Overnight Shift

Join our Respiratory Therapy team! We are seeking a dedicated, compassionateRespiratory Therapist who will provide our patients with top level care. You will also consult with other health care practitioners in the management or prevention of cardiopulmonary disorders.

Role Overview:

+ Render respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner.

+ Consult with and aid other health care practitioners in management or prevention of cardiopulmonary disorders, with minimal direction.

+ Assess patient’s condition and follow up to ensure appropriateness of therapy.

+ Educate patients and their families regarding respiratory treatment/therapy.

+ Assist in providing education to other departments regarding respiratory therapies and modalities.

Key Qualifications:

+ An Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy.

+ A current NY State Respiratory Therapist License.

+ Current NBRC Credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

+ BLS required, ACLS preferred.

+ Pediatric/PICU experience preferred.

Core Skills:

+ Highly motivated and able to empower and work well with others; able to adapt in a constantly evolving environment.

+ Able to problem solve operational, personnel, and patient issues.

+ Someone who has excellent communication skills, follow through and who supports the open expression of diverse ideas and opinions.

+ Team focused and collaborative with other departments in the coordination of patient care.

Additional Information:

+ Location: Main Hospital, 1275 York Avenue, in NYC.

+ Schedule : Overnight Shift (7:00pm-7:30am), days vary, includes weekends and rotating holidays.

+ Reporting to the Supervisor, Respiratory Therapist

Pay Range: $46.26-$74.00/hour; 10% overnight differential, plus 10% differential for weekends
