Job summary

Lincare is seeking a Healthcare Specialist to perform equipment setups in patients\' homes in Tempe, AZ, including ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units. The role involves traveling to patient residences and providing technical assistance as needed.

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, maintaining current knowledge of home respiratory care, and adhering to Safety & Regulatory policies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates excellent human relations with doctors, patients, and referrals.
• Clinician authorized to provide home care services per state laws.
• Training and certification required to obtain the applicable licenses and credentials.

• Set up and troubleshoot highly technical equipment in patients' homes (ventilators, monitors, CPAP).
• Provide patient education as part of care in accordance with policy.
• Maintain accurate patient records and reports per accreditation standards.
• Work on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled.

  • Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well
  
  
  
  

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need andLincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  
  
  
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
  
  
  
  


• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures


• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts


• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA(includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning


• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of writtenreports


• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards


• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis

Qualifications.

Work Experience

• Level 1 - Familiar with equipment and services provided in the home healthcaresetting, or other patient care, Required


• Level 2 - Minimum of two years in home healthcare, Required


• Level 3 - Minimum of three years in home healthcare
  
  
  
  • May be involvedin training of other Healthcare Specialists, Required
  
  
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• excellent human relations to interface with doctors, other referral sources, andpatients


• clinician authorized within scope of practice (as established by applicable state lawor if none, by the applicable national board) to provide all patient care services offered by Lincarefrom time to time


• Subject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may also be qualified for this position
  
  
  
  • If applicable, based on the requirements of state, in addition to avalid state license, current National Board of Respiratory Care Credentials may also be required for
    CRTs and RRTs.
  
  
  • Subject to State requirements and management approval, on an exception basis,
    a person may be hired that does not meet all the above certifications and training, but practices respiratory therapy as authorized by applicable state law
  
  
  
  

Licenses and Certifications

• Must have completed all training/educationrequired to obtain requisite certification,registration, and/or license described below,Required


• Must remain certified, registered, orlicensed by the applicable state and/or
  national board governing clinicalpractice or as otherwise permitted by law


• In all states, CRTs and RRTs are qualifiedfor this position,Required
