Job summary

Lincare Holdings in Iowa is seeking a Respiratory Therapist / Nurse to join its growing home care team. You will set up and educate patients on ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP units, nebulizers, and other home medical equipment in the patient’s home.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, reviewing prescriptions, maintaining patient records, and staying current on respiratory care techniques. After-hours on-call may be required; travel across assigned territory is expected with mileage

Qualifications

• CRTs or RRTs preferred or required per state regulation.
• Must be licensed or eligible in the state.
• Reliable personal vehicle for territory visits; mileage reimbursed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer literacy with Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and educate patients on home medical equipment such as CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen, and ventilators.
• Inspect, test, and adjust equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Review prescriptions and patient information to determine appropriate treatment per physician orders.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with standards.
• Stay current on respiratory care techniques and concepts.
• Provide on-call coverage after hours and weekends.

Job description

Lincare is currently seeking aRespiratory Therapist / Nurseto join a growing team. This employee is responsible for the setup of home medical equipment, including ventilators, monitors, CPAP/BiPAP units, and/or other related equipment. The employee will also educate and train patients on the proper usage of prescribed equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and provide education on home medical equipment that includes, but is not limited to CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and/or mechanical ventilators
• Inspect, test, and adjust home medical equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently
• Review prescription and patient information to assess condition and determine suitable treatment administration, compatible with physician orders
• Maintain patient records in a complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Work on-call after hours and weekends as needed
  • Frequency is determined by center size and number of employees available to share

Qualifications

• In all states CRTs and RRTs are qualified for this position
  • Subject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may also be qualified for this position
• Must remain certified, registered, or licensed by the applicable state and/or national board governing clinical practice or as otherwise permitted by law
• Must have reliable personal vehicle to visit patients throughout assigned territory
  • Mileage reimbursement is provided
• Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance in state of residence, per company policy
• In-depth knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Physical Demands

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
