Job summary

Lincare is seeking a Respiratory Therapist / Nurse to join a growing homecare team in Lynchburg, VA. You will set up and educate patients on home medical equipment, including ventilators and CPAP/BiPAP units, ensuring safe and effective use.

You will inspect devices, review prescriptions, maintain patient records, stay current on homecare practices, and participate in after-hours on-call coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and provide education on home medical equipment that includes, but is not limited to CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and/or mechanical ventilators
• Inspect, test, and adjust home medical equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently
• Review prescription and patient information to assess condition and determine suitable treatment administration, compatible with physician orders
• Maintain patient records in a complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Work on-call after hours and weekends as needed (frequency is determined by center size and number of employees available to share)

The employee will also educate and train patients on the proper usage of prescribed equipment.
