Job summary

Lincare in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Respiratory Therapist / Nurse to set up and educate patients on home medical equipment, including CPAP/BiPAP, ventilators, and nebulizers. You will ensure safe operation and provide training to patients in proper usage.

You will also maintain accurate patient records, stay current with respiratory homecare techniques, and participate in after-hours on-call coverage as needed. This role supports patients and their families in a home-care setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with home medical equipment setup and operation.
• Ability to educate patients on equipment usage.
• Knowledge of device safety and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and educate on home medical equipment including CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and ventilators.
• Inspect, test, and adjust equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Review prescription and patient information to determine suitable treatment per physician orders.
• Maintain patient records in a complete and organized manner per accreditation standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and concepts.
• Work on-call after hours and weekends as needed.

Job description

Lincare is currently seeking a Respiratory Therapist / Nurse to join a growing team. This employee is responsible for the setup of home medical equipment, including ventilators, monitors, CPAP/BiPAP units, and/or other related equipment. The employee will also educate and train patients on the proper usage of prescribed equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and provide education on home medical equipment that includes, but is not limited to CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and/or mechanical ventilators
• Inspect, test, and adjust home medical equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently
• Review prescription and patient information to assess condition and determine suitable treatment administration, compatible with physician orders
• Maintain patient records in a complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Work on-call after hours and weekends as needed
• Frequency is determined by center size and number of employees available to share
