Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, FL is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist for night shifts (7p-7a) to support patient care and respiratory therapy procedures. You will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to manage patient flow, provide respiratory support, and ensure safety and protocol compliance.

Qualifications include an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, BLS, NBRC RRT, and NRP certification, with 1+ year of critical care experience preferred. Florida screen requirements apply.

Job Description

• Shift: 7p-7a, 2/week. Rotating holidays and weekends


• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.


• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow.


• Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies.


• Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team.


• Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed.


• Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol.


• Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed.


• Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning.


• Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure.


• Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol.


• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Education: Associate [Required] Field of Study: in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science Work Experience: 1+ critical care experience [Preferred]

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]


• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required]


• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required]


• Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate (NRP) [required]

Pay Range

Pay Range: $26.33 - $48.98
