GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides routine, emergent, and critical care under physician supervision to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Complies with all relevant regulations, standards, and corporate policies. Promotes excellent customer service and maintains respectful relationships.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Delivers various respiratory treatments including aerosol therapy, lung expansion, oxygen therapy, and bronchial hygiene according to policies.
• Monitors patient progress, reassesses, and recommends changes to the respiratory care plan based on clinical data.
• Provides patient instruction, manages side effects, and adjusts therapies accordingly.
• Maintains mechanical ventilation, adjusts ventilator settings, responds to alarms, and assists with weaning.
• Performs blood gas analysis and manages arterial lines, adjusting care based on results.
• Responds to emergencies such as Code STEMI, Rapid Response, and Code Blue, including airway management and CPR.
• Additional services may include sedation, pediatrics, and labor and delivery support.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Patient care skills for neonatal through geriatric patients.

Preferred Skills:

• Intubation and airway management
• Ventilator management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Graduate of an approved respiratory care program; Associates degree or equivalent.

Preferred Experience:

Two years of critical care experience.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION:

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications from the American Heart Association; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); valid license from the Agency for Healthcare Administration if applicable.
