Theuniversityunion is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care to residents with cardiopulmonary conditions, including ventilator-dependent patients. You will administer treatments, monitor patients, and respond to respiratory emergencies in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and the care team.
Qualifications include a current Respiratory Therapy license with RRT or CRT credentials, BLS, and ACLS preferred.
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory care services to residents with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions, including those requiring mechanical ventilation.
This role includes administering treatments, managing ventilator-dependent patients, monitoring patient conditions, and responding to respiratory emergencies.
The Respiratory Therapist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver safe, high-quality care in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.

Good physical and emotional health is required. The Respiratory Therapist may be required to stand or sit for long periods, lift and move patients, and work in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, clinics, and home healthcare.
Normal work routines could involve exposure to blood and body fluids. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for following OSHA guidelines and standard universal precautions.
Hours are based on resident and community needs. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
If assigned to care for individuals on life-support where in-house coverage is required by law, the Respiratory Therapist must make arrangements to report to work during inclement weather. This may include coordinating with NJRA for alternative transportation or adjusting work hours as needed.
