Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform patient assessments and deliver respiratory care to both adult and neonatal patients, including newborns in Labor and Delivery. You will educate patients and families and ensure proper use of respiratory equipment.

The role requires neonatal care experience or department orientation with validated competencies, plus RRT, BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS on hire. Licensure by the State and association as an RRT are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required in Respiratory Therapy Sciences.
• Neonatal respiratory care experience or completion of orientation with validated competencies.
• Licensure and certifications (RRT, BCLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS) required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and respiratory care procedures for adult and neonatal patients, including newborns in Labor and Delivery.
• Manage and educate patients and families on respiratory care therapies and equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment and ensure safety standards.

Performs patient assessments, general and critical care respiratory care procedures, respiratory care for newborns in Labor and Delivery, blood gas analysis and interpretation, maintenance and management of equipment and patient and family education in both adult and neonatal areas.

Work Experience

• Previous Working Experience in Neonatal Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level Required

Licenses and Certifications

• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners Upon Hire Required and
