Job summary

The Christ Hospital is seeking an entry-level Respiratory Therapist to deliver respiratory care to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings in Kentucky.

You will monitor patient responses, educate on disease states and home care, and consult with physicians on cardiopulmonary status. This role is ideal for someone actively enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program or awaiting CRT exam, with state licensure and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed in state to practice respiratory care and BLS certification.

Job description

Delivers critical and non critical patient care services to all age groups using selected invasive and non invasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system. Provides respiratory care in in-patient and out patient areas. Demonstrates a high level of commitment and professionalism. Must practice within scope of practice in accordance with the licensure act.

Performs and monitors patient progress and response to service. Assesses patients and makes appropriate recommendations based on outcomes with regard to therapeutic interventions. Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Performs treatments of a routine nature.

Correctly records all information in the patient legal record and maintains department records.

Educates patients on their diseases state, wellness, home care modalities and safety.

Applies technical knowledge to consult physicians with regard to cardiopulmonary status.

Treatments performed as related to age specific needs.

Other duties as assigned.
