Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a qualified part-time Respiratory Therapist Lead in Somerville, NJ. The role involves treatment, disease management, control, and care of patients with cardiac and pulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.

Qualifications:

• Valid NJ State Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• RRT certification by National Board for Respiratory Care
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NRP certification required within 60 days of hire

Scheduling Requirements:

• Night Shift, 36 hours/week
• Part-Time Schedule

Essential Functions:

• Administers respiratory care as ordered and documents in patient records
• Performs arterial puncture analysis and interprets results
• Performs maintenance and quality control for blood gas analyzers
• Operates and troubleshoots respiratory devices
• Performs and interprets bedside spirometry and weaning parameters
• Responds to Codes, performs RRT, and CPR as needed
• Intubates (if certified) and manages airway during emergencies
• Provides airway management and assists during procedures
• Reports to incoming personnel and provides in-service education
• Maintains department cleanliness and order
• Verifies physician orders and checks for contraindications
• Delivers medical gas therapy and performs patient rounds
• Evaluates therapy effectiveness and updates care plans
• Completes documentation accurately
• Demonstrates proficiency with oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation
• Adheres to safety and infection control policies
• Performs emergency airway procedures
• Completes mandatory training and continuing education
• Maintains good attendance and performs other duties as assigned
