Job summary

UCHealth's Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO seeks a Respiratory Therapist to lead a patient-care team during night shifts. The role involves direct, advanced respiratory care per physician orders, with a focus on patient outcomes and education for patients and families.

The ideal candidate is an RRT with at least 2 years of experience, BLS, ACLS, and PALS/NRP within 6 months. This is an onsite, full-time position with a competitive hourly pay rate.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a respiratory therapist.
• BLS certification current through start date; renewals as required by AHA/Red Cross.
• ACLS required upon hire.
• PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition; evaluates and proposes respiratory care policies based on outcomes and best practices.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team; responds to codes and emergent requests.
• Educates patients and families about illness and community resources.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule: Full Time, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Nights

Pay: $33.82 - $50.73 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Leads team members by demonstrating and providing advanced care for patients with respiratory disorders.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Evaluates, develops and proposes respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
• Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment utilizing appropriate protocols. Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community resources.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Minimum Experience: 2 years of experience as respiratory therapist.
• BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with card in-hand before start date. BLS card must be good through sixty days of hire. All renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS required upon hire.
• PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
