Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital Mountain Point invites a Lead Respiratory Therapist to oversee respiratory care across departments, mentor staff, and supervise day-to-day operations.

You will assess patients, develop and evaluate care plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective care while driving performance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
  • Three (3) years of respiratory therapy experience in an acute care setting
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and compliance
  • Current CRT or RRT credential by NBRC
  • Current state Respiratory Therapist Licensure (RLT) in applicable state of employment
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification upon hire or within 6 months
  • PALS certification upon hire or within 6 months
  • NRP certification upon hire or within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Delivers respiratory care procedures to patients in various care areas according to policies.
  • Manages daily staffing, documentation, monitoring, auditing, and staff development.
  • Delegates tasks to maintain safe patient care during fluctuating workloads.
  • Develops and implements ongoing education/competency plans and orientation.
  • Mentors respiratory therapy staff and students.
  • Identifies and drives Quality Improvement projects.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Respiratory Therapist Lead, you will perform respiratory procedures under physician direction across all patient areas, leading and mentoring therapy staff while overseeing day-to-day operations.

Every day you will conduct patient assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, and collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient care delivery. You will also manage staffing, clinical competencies, staff development, performance evaluations, and regulatory compliance, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will possess expertise in respiratory therapy, strong leadership and mentoring skills, and the proven ability to manage operations, ensure clinical competencies, drive performance improvement, and comply with regulatory standards for effective patient care.

  • Delivers respiratory care procedures to patients in general, acute, critical care, and emergency areas according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for functions such as daily staffing, documentation, monitoring and auditing, and staff professional development.
  • Delegation in response to fluctuating workload and may assist with workload coverage to ensure safe patient care.
  • Develops and implements ongoing education/competency plan and orientation process.
  • Serves in a mentoring capacity for the respiratory therapy staff and students.
  • Proactively identify and facilitate ongoing Quality Improvement projects and processes.

We are offering up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements

Required
  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (i.e,. CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
  • Three (3) years of respiratory therapy experience in an acute care setting Knowledge and experience in medical/trauma terminology, disease conditions, pharmacology, treatment modalities, therapeutic testing and interventions
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and compliance
  • Current credential of CRT or RRT by N.B.R.C.
  • Current state Respiratory Therapist Licensure (RLT) in applicable state of employment
  • Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS certification form American Heart Association upon hire or obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • Current PALS certification upon hire or obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • Current NRP certification upon hire or obtain within six (6) months of hire
Preferred
  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR)
