Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital Mountain Point in Lehi, UT seeks a Respiratory Therapist Lead to perform procedures under physician direction, lead therapy staff, and oversee day-to-day operations.

You will assess patients, develop and evaluate care plans, and collaborate with other professionals to ensure high-quality care. Relocation assistance is available for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

  • Three years of acute care respiratory therapy experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology.
  • Current CRT or RRT credential.
  • State licensure for the employing state.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications at hire or within six months.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers respiratory care procedures across departments according to policy.
  • Oversees staffing, documentation, auditing, and staff development.
  • Mentors therapy staff and students, facilitating competency growth.
  • Drives quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Respiratory Therapist Lead, you will perform respiratory procedures under physician direction across all patient areas, leading and mentoring therapy staff while overseeing day-to-day operations.
Every day you will conduct patient assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, and collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient care delivery. You will also manage staffing, clinical competencies, staff development, performance evaluations, and regulatory compliance, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will possess expertise in respiratory therapy, strong leadership and mentoring skills, and the proven ability to manage operations, ensure clinical competencies, drive performance improvement, and comply with regulatory standards for effective patient care.

  • Delivers respiratory care procedures to patients in general, acute, critical care, and emergency areas according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for functions such as daily staffing, documentation, monitoring and auditing, and staff professional development.
  • Delegation in response to fluctuating workload and may assist with workload coverage to ensure safe patient care.
  • Develops and implements ongoing education/competency plan and orientation process.
  • Serves in a mentoring capacity for the respiratory therapy staff and students.
  • Proactively identify and facilitate ongoing Quality Improvement projects and processes.

We are offering up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (i.e,. CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
  • Three (3) years of respiratory therapy experience in an acute care setting Knowledge and experience in medical/trauma terminology, disease conditions, pharmacology, treatment modalities, therapeutic testing and interventions
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and compliance
  • Current credential of CRT or RRT by N.B.R.C.
  • Current state Respiratory Therapist Licensure (RLT) in applicable state of employment
  • Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS certification form American Heart Association upon hire or obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • Current PALS certification upon hire or obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • Current NRP certification upon hire or obtain within six (6) months of hire

Preferred

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR)
