Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, VA. This PRN, night shift role focuses on respiratory care interventions and collaboration with nurses and physicians for neonatal to adult patients.

The ideal candidate has an AS or BS in a related field, NBRC RRT, a Virginia license, and BLS at hire. New grads must obtain NBRC RRT within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree required; non-degreed with RRT credentials considered.
• State license to practice respiratory care and NBRC RRT certification required.
• BLS required at time of hire; for new graduates NBRC RRT within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement physician-directed respiratory interventions for patients.
• Collaborate with nursing and health care teams across neonatal to adult ages.
• Perform age-specific assessment and treatment of patients; safeguard PHI as needed.

Overview

Sentara Health is currently recruiting for Registered Respiratory Therapists to work at Sentara Halifax in South Boston, VA. This role is a PRN, Night shift position.
This Registered Respiratory Therapist builds upon the overall pulmonary management in identifying and implementing physician directed respiratory care interventions for an individual or a group of patients. Works cooperatively with nursing and other health care team members for professional respiratory care practice for all patients ranging in ages from neonates to adults in all clinical and ambulatory settings. Responsible for the appropriate age specific assessment and treatment of patients. May have access to, or oversight of Protected Health Information (PHI) in the course of carrying out position duties.

Education

• Associates or Bachelor's degree required. Non degreed applicants with RRT credentials prior to January 1, 2006 and graduates from a military RT program with RRT credentials will also be considered.

Certification/Licensure

• State Respiratory license
• NBRC RRT
• BLS required at time of hire.
• For new graduates only, must have State license and BLS at time of hire, and must obtain NBRC RRT within 6 months of hire date.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $37.61 - $55.27 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
