Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform patient assessments, monitor mechanical ventilation, and administer gas delivery systems. Responsibilities include humidification, aerosol therapy, airway management, and ABG analysis.

You will assist with bronchoscopy, bed-side tracheostomy, and patient transport while educating families and patients. Required: Associate degree in Respiratory Care, NJ-RESP license, BLS/ACLS; 1–2 years pediatric/adult

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program with an Associate degree.
• Current NJ-RESP license or eligibility.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• 1-2 years pediatric and adult critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and monitor mechanical ventilatory support.
• Administer humidification, aerosol and inhaled therapies.
• Manage airway care and bronchoscopy assistance as needed.
• Perform ABG sampling and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Monitor SpO2, transcutaneous PO2/CO2, and ventilatory status; assist with weaning.
• Assist with bedside tracheostomies and patient transport; educate patients and families.

Short Description

Patient assessment, mechanical ventilatory support monitoring, non-invasive ventilation support, administration of medical gas delivery systems (i.e.: heliox, nitric, oxygen compressed air, etc...).

Humidification and aerosol therapy, airway management, delivery of aerosolized & instilled medications, chest physical therapy, vest therapy, IPV therapy, in‑exsuffalator therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arterial blood gas acquisition & analysis, Transcutaneous pc02 & po2 monitoring, pulse oximetry monitoring & trending, ventilatory weaning, peak flow monitoring, assist with bedside tracheostomies, and bronchoscopy.

Internal and external patient transporting, patient and family education.

Experience Required

Post Respiratory Care program graduate.

1-2 years preferred Pediatric and Adult critical care experience.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or GED and Graduate of an AMA Approved Respiratory Care Program - Associates.

License/Certification Requirements

Current NJ-RESP - New Jersey State Respiratory Care Board License.
