Job summary

Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist I for the Night shift. The role supports respiratory care across age groups within the Respiratory Therapy department, delivering high-quality care in a busy hospital setting.

Qualified candidates have an AS degree in Respiratory Care, CA Respiratory Care Practitioner license, and BLS certification; RRT preferred.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent preferred.
• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner License required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS required.
• Current RRT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients using cardiopulmonary modalities.
• Collaborate with the care team to plan and adjust therapy.
• Provide precepting and mentorship to students and new staff.
• Ensure timely, accurate documentation and patient safety.
• Maintain punctual attendance and professional conduct.

Education

AS Degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent

California Respiratory Care Practitioner License

American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred

Pay Rate*: $47.00/hr.

Position Summary

The Respiratory Care Practitioner is an allied health professional with demonstrated skills and competency in all required therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary modalities provided in all areas of the hospital on geriatric, adult, adolescent and pediatric patient populations where Respiratory Care services are provided.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

• Ability to consistently provide world-class customer service to patients, families, visitors and fellow healthcare providers.
• Ability to demonstrate the skill set necessary to accurately assess pulmonary status of patients served.
• Ability to collaborate with the patient care team to appropriately establish, evaluate and adjust the plan of care according to patient needs within the scope of practice of the RCP license and policies and procedures of the hospital.
• Ability to safely and effectively perform all therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care modalities in the Respiratory Care scope of service.
• Ability to meaningfully participate and contribute to the success of QA and PI projects.
• Ability to precept and mentor students, new hires and new grads.
• Ability to be at work and be on time.
• Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.
• Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications

• One (1) year experience in all areas where Respiratory Care is provided to include pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification

• AS Degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent preferred
• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner License required
• Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
