Qualifications

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation from AAP obtained within 12 Months of hire date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 9 Months of hire date.
  • Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from NBRC obtained within 12 Months of hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced respiratory care modalities.

  • Responds to emergency resuscitation team code.

  • Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.

  • Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.

  • Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.

  • Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.

  • Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.

  • Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.

  • Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.

  • Complies with established organization and department policies.

  • Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education


  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.


Licensure / Certification / Registration


  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
