Job summary

Accendra Health seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to perform home visits, set up oxygen therapy and CPAP/BiPAP equipment, and educate patients in usage and care. You will collaborate with physicians and case managers, document care, and ensure proper device operation across metro branches in IL.

The role involves a mix of in-home and in-clinic work with on-site responsibilities and the flexibility to coordinate with hospital discharge needs.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with IL license.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Experience with DME and home respiratory care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits for oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow-ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs, collaborating with physicians and branch teams.
• Maintain documentation using iPad/laptop and test equipment for proper operation.
• Set up respiratory care equipment and perform related tests (pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry).
• Perform other duties as required.

With most time spent in the field supporting metro branches, the role offers flexibility tied to hospital discharge volume and meaningful in-home and hospital-based patient care.Key HighlightsCoverage Area: Hanover Park, IL and supports Waukegan and Bolingbrook metro branches.Work Arrangement: On-site; 75% road, 25% in-office.Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; flexibility to 9:00–5:30 PM or 10:00–6:30 PM.Reimbursements: Mileage reimbursed at $0.76 per mile.Salary Range$36 - $40 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.On-Call TransparencyOne weekday on-call and one weekend per month.What you’ll doConduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups.Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Assess patient needs, document care delivered and escalate concerns appropriately.Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs,Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation.Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating ondition.Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs.Performs other duties as required.What we look forRegistered Respiratory Therapist with an active IL RT license.Open to various experience levels; preference for experienced candidates.
