Job Summary
This position performs duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with the physician's order and departmental policy. Works independently in all acute and critical care settings. Consults with physicians and other personnel and makes recommendations on treatment as appropriate. Must possess skills necessary to treat patients of all ages to include infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as appropriate for the role.Accountabilities
Must participate in at least one of the following:- 5%
a. serve as ambassador for system wide initiatives (ie united way, employee survey, etc)
b. serve as a team captain (ie employee survey, heart walk, march of dimes, etc)
c. help coordinate and particpate in Respiratory Care Week activitiesMust participate in at least one of the following: - 15%
a. cross training for other departments and/or age populations
b. assist in training opportunities for student, new employees, RNs, othersSupervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in south Carolina.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
BLS required. NBRC credentials must be maintained.
Other certifications dependent on work unit : NRP, PALS, ACLS, NPS
