Job summary

Mercy Hospital seeks Respiratory Therapists (RRT/CRT) for flexible day or night shifts across Springfield, Joplin and surrounding communities. This GIG offers base pay of $30–$35 per hour plus variable shift incentives, with 4, 8, or 12 hour shifts and no weekend or holiday requirements.

You will perform direct patient care per physician orders, consult on therapy effectiveness, and serve as a resource for medical staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Hold the NBRC credential (RRT or CRT).
• ACLS is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience; orientation excluded.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care in respiratory therapy per physician orders.
• Consult physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Act as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Overview:

Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• ACLS is required.
• Must have one year of experience, not to include time on orientation.
• Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.
• All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Prefer critical care experience.
