Job summary

A leading healthcare delivery system seeks a Respiratory Therapist for Highland Park Hospital. Qualifications

  • Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Preferred 6 months experience in healthcare setting.
  • 1 year of adult critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy to various patient demographics as ordered by physicians.
  • Assess patients to determine suitable treatment methods.
  • Document treatment and monitor physiological responses.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

$20K Sign-On Bonus with 2 year committment

Position Highlights:

  • Respiratory Therapist, Highland Park Hospital
  • 40 Hours per week
  • PMs & Nights


What you will need:

  • License: Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required
  • Education: Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of respiratory therapy required
  • Certification: CPR (BLS)
  • Experience: 6 months experience in a health care setting preferred; 1 year of adult critical care experience, neonatal or adult, preferred

What you will do:

  • Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
  • Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
  • Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
  • Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
  • Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
  • Provide patient and staff education
