The position involves comprehensive patient assessments, therapy administration, and collaboration with physicians to optimize pulmonary care for residents.

Requirements include NBRC-registered RRT, current state licensure, and several years of experience with ventilator management and tracheostomy care in SNF/hospital settings.

Qualifications

• RRT credential NBRC required.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in SNF/LTACH/hospital settings required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop and modify treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing including lung capacity measurements and ABG evaluation.
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosols, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents and initiate ventilator support when necessary.
• Monitor residents' respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
• Educate residents and families on treatments, equipment use, and medications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and progress per clinical standards.
