Major Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
  2. Documents all care activity and charges accurately in the hospital EMR system.
  3. Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities.
  4. Demonstrates competency in the use and maintenance of arterial blood gas machines.
  5. Proper setup and utilization of mechanical ventilators, V60 NIPPV, and High Flow Oxygen Therapy systems.
  6. Disinfects, transports, and sets up all non-disposable equipment properly.
  7. Adheres to the Hospital's Standards of Behavior.
  8. Completes all hospital and department annual competencies.
Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities
  1. Follows departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  2. Attends required meetings, conferences, and seminars.
  3. Uses Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  4. Complies with health and safety regulations.
  5. Maintains professionalism, respect, and tolerance towards all.
  6. Maintains reliable and predictable attendance.
  7. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications

License/Certification/Education:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed in Massachusetts in respiratory care.
  • Current BLSHP certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Maintain CEUs as per Massachusetts regulations.

Equivalent education and experience may be considered where applicable.

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

Activities include standing, walking, sitting, talking, handling, pushing/pulling, stooping, reaching, lifting weights up to 100 pounds, and exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and chemicals.
