Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Extern PRN to join a leading healthcare system. The role supports respiratory staff and provides patient-centered care while in training and under supervision.

You will assist with respiratory processes, maintain a safe environment, and advance competency as you progress in your schooling within a respected hospital setting that values growth and excellence.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and in good standing in an approved school of respiratory therapy.
• BLS must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated basic patient care services to support the efficient operation of the respiratory suite.
• Under supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager, assist the respiratory staff in the respiratory process and adapt to competency as training progresses.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment for all patients.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist Extern delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services to support the efficient operation of the respiratory suite. Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager, the Respiratory Therapist Extern assists the respiratory staff in the respiratory process in accordance with the Respiratory Therapist Extern\’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The Respiratory Therapist Extern is currently enrolled and in good standing in an approved school of respiratory therapy and can perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved.

What qualifications you will need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree
