Job summary

Virtua Health in Marlton, NJ seeks a Respiratory Therapist to treat cardio-respiratory deficiencies and manage patient care. You will assess patients, create care plans, administer treatments, and educate patients and families.

The role requires a AMA-approved Respiratory Care program, NJ licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, and BLS; ACLS is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. RRT not mandatory for new graduates; CRT with 10+ years may need to pursue RRT within a year.

Qualifications

• AMA approved Respiratory Care program required.
• High school diploma required.
• New Jersey license as Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• BLS credential required.
• ACLS credential or plan to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments and develops individualized respiratory care plans.
• Administers treatments/medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Demonstrates competency in invasive and non-invasive ventilator care.
• Demonstrates competency in Blood Gas Laboratory procedures or related lab work.
• Provides patient and family education on medications, diseases, treatments, and wellness.
• Sets up, operates, and maintains medical gas delivery and airway humidification systems.
• Documents patient care activities using computer information management systems.

Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by New Jersey State Board

BLS credential
