Job summary

Austin Trace Health and Rehabilitation in Centerville, OH is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care to our residents. The role involves ABG analysis, high-flow therapy, and management of invasive and non-invasive ventilation systems in a skilled nursing setting.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in ventilator weaning protocols, and educate residents and families on respiratory care techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Ohio licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.
• Experience in ventilator management and weaning protocols highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results accurately.
• Administer heated high-flow therapy and oversee tracheostomy procedures, including removal and insertion.
• Monitor and optimize settings for both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation systems.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including ventilator weaning protocols.
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding respiratory care techniques and equipment usage.
• Maintain detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
