Job summary

Batavia Nursing Care Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist for day shifts to provide comprehensive respiratory care for residents in a skilled nursing setting.

The role involves ABG analysis, high-flow therapy, ventilator management, and weaning, with collaboration across a multidisciplinary team. A valid Ohio license and BLS/ACLS are required, with 1 year of LTC experience preferred. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid Ohio licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.
• Experience in ventilator management and weaning protocols highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results.
• Administer heated high-flow therapy and manage tracheostomy procedures.
• Monitor and optimize settings for invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans and weaning protocols.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment usage.
• Maintain detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
