Job summary

UHealthSolutions, Inc. (UHS) seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist for the day shift at Federal Medical Center in Butner, NC. You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures under physician orders in a federal prison setting, including ventilator management and ABG analysis.

The role requires NBRC credentials, NC licensure, BLS and ACLS, plus at least one year of clinical experience. You must comply with UHS and BOP policies while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a 2-year AMA approved respiratory care program.
• Maintain North Carolina license requirements for CEUs.
• NBRC RRT/CRT certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of indications, contraindications, and hazards of respiratory medications, equipment, and procedures.
• Evaluate appropriateness of medical orders.
• Proficient in mechanical ventilator modalities and NIV/CPAP/BiPAP.
• Perform invasive procedures including ABG and endotracheal intubation.
• Serve on the code/emergency team and assist with patient transport.
• Participate in clinical rounds with physicians and nurses.
• Assist with bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing.
• Follow infection control practices and department policies.
