Job Description and Requirements

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36

Work Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Summary of the Job

Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures through the respiratory department, with a comprehensive understanding of equipment, supplies, indications, contraindications, and physiological effects on patients.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successful completion of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current NBRC certification as a Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist.
• License issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Current BLS and ALS certifications from ILCOR-recognized courses, including manikin check-offs.
• NICU and PICU experience with NRP and PALS certifications are highly preferred.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands

Good physical health required. Tasks include standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, lifting at least 50 pounds, and working in moderate noise levels.

Physical effort levels include constant talking, hearing, seeing; frequent stooping, crouching, reaching; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, and balancing.
