Job summary

St. Mary's General Hospital in Passaic, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner I to perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures under physician orders, with emphasis on assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care for each patient.

The role may serve as Lead RCP during shifts; evening shift; sign-on bonus of $15,000 for qualified candidates. The hospital is a community-based tertiary center with cardiovascular and cancer programs.

Qualifications

• State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 2 years experience as a RCP preferred.
• ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• NRP certificate preferred
• PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Assess, plan, implement and document care with consideration of age and population specific needs; may serve as Lead RCP during shifts when supervisor is absent.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director/manager, the RCP I is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.
